Job Title: Accounting Assistant

About the Job
- The Accounting Assistant will provide support to the Head of Finance in managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Review and reconcile invoices and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain organized and accurate records, both electronic and physical.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance as needed
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and file tax returns and maintain tax records.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is a plus
- Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
