Job Title: Graduate Intern – Accountant

Job Description

What role you will play in our team:

  • As an Accountant in the Supply Chain department, your primary role involves accounting for transactions in the end-to-end fuel acquisition, distribution and consumption processes.
  • These include gathering, analysing and interpreting data related to Fuel Operations, determination of accounting entries for review and booking in SAP, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation are in place and obtaining relevant supervisory sign-offs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will participate in periodic fuel inventory exercises which will involve measurement of fuel in various storage locations onshore and offshore, documentation of the measurement, conversion of quantities using international best practices and reconciliation of quantities to the accounting ledgers.
  • Supporting audits, partners reviews and other ‘ll identify key performance indicators, create reports, and offer insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in implementing technology solutions, such as ERP systems, to streamline operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
  • The role will be primarily located in Qua Ibo Terminal, Eket, Akwa Ibom State with frequent visits to field locations across Onne Port Harcourt, and offshore locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of supply chain data, identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualifications or a Master’s Degree will be added advantage.
  • Maximum of 2 years post-graduation experience in an accounting role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering data-driven insights and contributing to process improvements.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with supply chain software and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and logistics.
