Understanding eNaira – What is E-Naira

eNaira is the digital form of cash and is a direct liability to the Central Bank of Nigeria, while the customer deposits are direct liabilities on the financial institutions.

What is eNaira Wallet?

The eNaira wallet is a digital storage that holds the eNaira. It is held and managed on a distributed ledger. The eNaira wallet is required to access, hold and use eNaira.

How to get started with eNaira Wallet

  • Enter the invitation code received from the bank.
  • Enter minimum identification details (i.e., NIN, BVN, or KYC/AML information, depending on the customer tier you are).
  • Enter other identification details (i.e., Name, Place and Date of Birth, Phone Number, passport photograph, email, and password).
  • The minimum ID is validated.
  • You receive a notification from your financial institution.
  • Log in to the account

How to Fund your E-Naira Wallet

  1. Login into your regular bank app
  2. Initiate a transfer to your eNaira wallet tied to the bank account in that bank
  3. Login back to your enaira account/app and refresh your app to see your wallet funded.
  4. Then you can use it for your daily activities

  • Download the eNaira Speed Wallet app from either Google Play or the App Store to create and manage your eNaira wallet
  • Go to mywallet.eNaira.gov.ng and create your eNaira wallet easily through the website
  • Easily create an eNaira wallet using the USSD code *997# on any phone, regardless of internet access or phone type.
  • Receive funds from other eNaira wallets
  • Credit your wallet through your mobile banking app
  • Visit any eNaira-powered POS agent near you to fund your account
  • You can use various order channels like Remita, Pay Attitude (Pay With Phone No.), Bullnet (*997*50#), and more to add funds to your eNaira wallet.
