Polaris Bank Limited Recruitment 2026 for Regional Compliance Manager – Polaris Bank was established by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on September 21, 2018 to offer commercial banking services to the Nigerian public.

The bank commenced services on the same day, having purchased the assets and assumed certain liabilities of the defunct Skye Bank.With a footprint of over 350 branches across the country, Polaris Bank prides itself in delivering exceptional customer experience, leveraging best in class/state of the art Information Communication Technology (ICT). By focusing on ICT solutions across multiple service delivery channels (mobile banking, ATMs, POS and online platforms) Polaris Bank maintains a pivotal role in the Nigerian banking industry, providing customers with simple, convenient and secured banking services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Regional Compliance Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

What You Will Do

  • The role is responsible for overseeing compliance operations within a specific region by ensuring that the bank’s activities in the region comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • The role also acts as a point of contact with regulatory agencies and assists in audits examinations specific to the region.
  • The role assists in implementing compliance strategies, and monitoring compliance activities, while collaborating with Branch Managers and Internal Control Officers and branch officers to maintain a strong compliance culture and provide guidance on regulatory issues.

Key Result Areas
Compliance Advisory

  • Anticipate and address complex regulatory issues, identify emerging risks, and propose effective solutions.
  • Communicate complex compliance issues clearly and persuasively and engage stakeholders in risk-based decision making.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement, fostering innovation and creativity, and promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Understand regulatory requirements applicable to the bank’s operations.
  • Demonstrate ability to comply with legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Possess the ability to identify and report potential compliance issues and risks.
  • Participate in training and development programs related to legal compliance.

Risk Management Compliance

  • Exhibit in-depth knowledge of the complex regulatory environment related to risk management and compliance in the banking industry.
  • Analyze risk management compliance issues.
  • Evaluate the level of compliance with regulations related to risk management and compliance.

Compliance Tools and Technologies:

  • Design and implement compliance systems and processes that utilize complex technologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of compliance tools and technologies effectively.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve compliance tools and technologies.
  • Identify and mitigate advanced compliance risks that arise when using these tools and technologies.
  • Understand the underlying technology of these tools and how to integrate them into the overall compliance architecture.
  • Train and mentor others in the use of compliance tools and technologies.

Industry Best Practices:

  • Participate in compliance training and development opportunities.
  • Identify and reports potential compliance issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Apply industry regulations and standards to specific situations.
  • Analyze and evaluate compliance risks.

Compliance Reporting:

  • Identify potential reporting issues and escalate, as necessary.
  • Accurately complete complex reports using established processes and templates.
  • Independently review relevant data sources for accuracy and completeness.
  • Demonstrate significant knowledge of relevant software and data systems used for reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement (Regulators):

  • Accurately complete reports/observations analysis using established processes and templates.
  • Identify potential issues on responses to request and escalate where necessary.
  • Independently review relevant data sources for accuracy and completeness.

Main Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Law or any related field.
  • Relevant Professional certification (CIBN, DCP, ACAMs, ACA, ACCA, ICAN etc) is an advantage.
  • 7-10 years cognate experience
  • Additional academic qualification is an advantage.
