Nigerian Army Recruitment – recruitment.army.mil.ng 89RRI 2025

This is to inform the general public that the Nigerian Army started online registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake recruitment exercise for TRADES/NON – TRADESMEN AND WOMEN on the 31st of March 2025 and end on May 17, 2025.

The application portal will open on the official website (https://recruitment.army.mil.ng) once the exercise begins. Stay vigilant and rely only on the Army’s official channels for announcements to avoid scams.

General Requirements for Nigerian Army Recruitment

To qualify, candidates must meet these criteria:

  1. Nationality: Nigerian by birth (proof of origin required).
  2. Age:
    • Non-Tradesmen/Women: 18–22 years.
    • Tradesmen/Women (e.g., mechanics, nurses): 18–26 years.
  3. Education:
    • Non-Tradesmen/Women: Minimum of 5 credits in WASSCE/NECO/GCE, including English and Mathematics.
    • Tradesmen/Women: OND/Trade Test/City & Guilds Certificate in relevant fields.
  4. Physical Standards:
    • Height: 1.68 meters (men) / 1.62 meters (women).
    • Chest Measurement (men): 0.86 meters (minimum expanded).
  5. Medical Fitness: No hearing, visual, or physical disabilities.
  6. Character: Clean criminal record and certified proof of good conduct.
  7. NYSC: Graduates must present a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

How to Apply for Nigerian Army Recruitment

Follow these steps once the portal opens:

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to https://recruitment.army.mil.ng
  2. Create an Account: Register with an active email and phone number.
  3. Fill the Application Form:
    • Enter personal details (name, date of birth, state of origin).
    • Provide educational qualifications and upload scanned certificates.
  4. Upload Documents:
    • Passport photograph (white background, no glasses/headgear).
    • Birth certificate, LGA identification letter, and valid ID (NIN, voter’s card).
  5. Submit and Print Confirmation: Review all details, submit, and print your acknowledgment slip.

Post-Application Process: What to Expect

The recruitment process is rigorous and includes:

  1. Screening: Verification of documents at designated centers.
  2. Physical Fitness Test:
    • 2.4km run (under 11 minutes for men, 13 minutes for women).
    • Push-ups, sit-ups, and other endurance exercises.
  3. Written Examination: Tests general knowledge, mathematics, and current affairs.
  4. Medical Examination: Comprehensive health check at military hospitals.
  5. Final Interview: Assesses problem-solving skills and motivation to serve.
  6. Training: Successful candidates undergo 6 months of intensive military training.
